Refugium Kessil A160WE Tuna Sun or H150P Purple

Thinking about getting a new light for my 20g high refugium. Anyone have experiences with the Kessil A160WE Tuna Sun or H150P Purple horticulture light for these purposes? The only thing I keep in my refugium is chaeto.

I used one of the H150s and liked it a lot - until I cleverly dropped it into the refugium. Something I don't recommend. I decide then to just use one of those Chinese eBay grow lights. Works just as well, just doesn't look as good. Never used a tuna sun.

Keep in mind the H150P was discontinued last year, so whatever stock you find is it.

I've been reading good things about the H150 on other boards too; so, I think I am going to try it. I contacted Kessil. Aside from the fact that they don't manufacture it anymore they also let me know that it doesn't have the same protection against wet environments that the Tuna Sun has. Don't know what the manufacturing difference is.

Went and looked, oops on my part. It was the H380 I used not the H150 .... and I still dropped it into my refugium :lol:.

That's a lot more powerful light and a much more expensive mistake! Almost like me dropping my Tunze ATO box in the sump. :headwallblue: Twice in eight years! "I could'a bought a better TV!"
