refugium light recommendations

I'm using a power compact flood light bulb. Look for a "daylight" bulb around 6500k. Should be around $5.

I use to use one of those good bulbs from those stores, but it had to be replaced every 4-6 months as my nitrates would start to spike. Instead of wasting the time and money, I bought an LED bulb from Amazon and haven't looked back. Never have to worry about it anymore.

Which one did you buy from Amazon?
 
how big is your tank and refugium..... if you wanna lot of nutrient export use a lot of light on the fuge.. i use 250 10K but mainly because i had extras laying around

the more light you use the better it grows ( to a point you can over do it) but anything a normal tank would be lit with will work
 
Led flood light from HD.. $35 and grows chaeto like crazy. I posted it a few times on here the exact specs and even a pic of the box.. Do a quick search for refugium light to see if you want it.. If you cant find it can post a pic if I still have the box. Let me know.
 
Have any of you guys had any success buying 6500K bulbs locally? Didn't see any at the local Home Depot and had to settle for 5000K. Please let me know. Thanks
