Refugium Lighting Questions

I recently bought a large cpr hang on refugium. I want to upgrade the leds and I have been reading alot about what affect red leds have on algae. So how do you guys and gals feel about red leds over a refugium and do you know of any good diy led sites/ any suggestions?

There are red 'grow' led fixtures for sale on ebay. This is one time a cheap ebay fixture is probably OK to buy. I use a regular Arctic S026 over mine, but I do have a friend with one of the red grow lights and he is quite happy with his macro algae growth.

Bump. Anybody have personal diy experience with building led fixtures and I checked ebay they are all big fixtures I need a strip that has good coverage.

I thought I was good at soldering...but next time I will buy solderless led's for my DIY build. Save yourself a headache! I purchased leds from Rapidled.com and mounted on 1" C channel aluminum stock for heatsink.

or they have some par38 led bulbs that grow my cheato in my fuge really good!
