Refugium Lighting

Just started my refugium. Have a 5" deep sand bed with a large 4 oz wad of chaeto. How long should I leave the light on the fuge. So many different opinions.... The light is a 6500 K light from Lowes. [url]http://reefcentral.com/gallery/data/500/213678101_4143__Small___WinCE_.JPG [/URL]

my sump/fuge light turns on opposite of my display lights. This "in theory" will help stabilize pH over the day.

I basically have 2 of those exact same lights on my fuge. Chaeto grows well with them. Only 18w each is also nice,, saves some electricity $$
