Refugium negative impact?

I have a hob refugium on my tank with macro algea and all of the macro's where bought at a lfs. Ever since I put this in my corals at times close up and later on reopen. My parameters are really good with exceptions to my magnesium it's at 1,,050 should be at 1200. Even after a water change the corals still close and reopen. The hob refugium is the only thing that was added to the tank.

macros can release chemical warfare and may cause anger for corals. secondly a new HOB will cycle and may be causing little swings in the water.

When I got macro from the LFS, I initially put Caulerpa in fuge. It went sexual and I ended up losing a few coral. Do you know what type of macro you have?

I have caulperpa and fern like macro.
