Refugium Question

Thirsty
Ok, so I was thinking about taking my fuge and putting my frag racks in there. I would obviously need to add some small Korallia's (400gph jobs) and maybe some extra light (have 2 T5's 48" over the top now). I want to know your thoughts. I know some of you have been to my house and I will also post a picture below. I would like some ideas.

Thanks

It's roughly a 75g that sits on top of a huge rubbermaid container.

I dunno if you have room to do it but if you could add a baffle length wise where the front half of the fuge was bare bottom you could place the frag rack there and hit it with a korillia.

What do you plan on fragging and growing down there? Do you think you have enough light for that? You can get a clip on type halide, but that might throw your fuge out of whack and add too much heat for you?
BTW, I freaking love your sump!! Kudos. Makes me feel stupid for buying my sump..lol good job!

Imo I would grow your frags in a seperate tank draining into the fuge with gravity. It's just that all of the alge grows in your fuge and will grow alge all over the frags quick. I mean isnt the reason we have a fuge so the bad stuff grows there not in the display. Again just an opinion. You have plenty of room a frag tank.

Great idea

+1
You will have you hell of a sand storm if you put power heads on that thing. You might be better off putting a light in your rubbermaid tub and a rack in there if you have the room. the rock in the tub can take power heads but i would leave the fuge be with all that sand.

I have a very similar fuge and turned it into a frag section as well over time. I think it works out great to thin out my display. It doesn't have much flow (no sand storms) but it works for me. I agree too that your rubermade would be good for frags.

Here are two pics, at least as far away of a shot that I have.
