Refugium Question

So i have an 11 inch long or so refugium in my sump. I have some chaeto and mangroves in it. I also have rubble rock i was wondering if i can take most of it out beacuse i wanted to put something in there. Would taking the rock out do any harm to the main tank? I have enough lvie rock in the main display too. So would there be any effect on the tank?

I've never read up on mangroves, however I thought they needed something to "foot" in like mud or rocks. with the mangroves aside, as long as you maintain live rock in the display you will be fine. just try not to stir up things in the refugium, that could be an issue.

i was going to keep some rock to hold the mangroves but i want to cut egg crate and use it to hold frags under a led light or something like an ecoxotic
