well I have a 55 gal reef tank that is about 2 months old..... I really want to set up a refugium/sump, but I need it below the tank because there is no space above my tank.... can you get a refugium/sump combination that is all in one or do they have to be seperate? finally can someone point me out to a place i could purchase one of these or instructions on how to build one? (including overflow and plumbing because I don't know much about that)

check out the DIY forum, ton's of plans there. Here's a simple one that I've had succeess with on several systems. It's a below the tank design.
