When i make the acrylic baffles do I cut the acrylic so it fits perfectly, or do i make it slightly smaller? The tank is a 20gallon long tank, so it is 12inches deep. should i cut the baffles 12" or 11.75" etc
Also do i put the baffles on first and then the sealant, or the sealant and then the baffles?
Any advice?
Thanks

hey Razzagas, you should cut the acrylic so that it matches the inside of the tank. i believe that if the width of the tank is 12", then the inside distance will be slightly less b/c the glass takes up some width. measure it to be on the safe side. the closer you can get it to the actual size, the easier it will be to prop up the acrylic pieces and the less silicone you'll need to fill in the gaps.
in terms of putting the silicone or the acrylic first, i dont know othe people did it, but i lined up the acrylic sheet first and then put the glue at the junction of the glass and acrylic. i guess you could first put a line of silicone first, but i think that may leave gaps open.
hope that helps,
Z.
