hello i have a 29g tank going to make it a reef would a REfugium be a good thing i dont have room for a sump so would get a hang on would this be enought fillthation i have about 50lbs of lr know and one power head and a aquclear 500 for filltration what can i do better and i have pc for lights thanks for the help

A refugium is always a good idea. Go as big as you can fit.
50lbs of LR should be plenty for a 29. Keep your filter media clean (often)

A fuge is nice but not mandatory. With 50 lbs of LR plus your substrate you have enough filtration. Your good to go, you can add a fuge later if you like.

I have a CPR Refugium (small size), they are great. I notice a huge difference in the PH swings and alge growth on my 40 gal. So the small size one should be even more efficient in a smaller tank. Macro alge in it is a great nitrate and phosphat sponge.


If you get one make sure you get the newer model with the black acrylic back to it, no light transfer to tank.
