refurbishing live rock

I bought some live and lace rock the other day. I wasn't interested in keeping it live as I don't want to risk pests so I have it circulating in fresh water right now. It did have cyano on it. I know cyano is as tough as cockroaches. Is there anything else I should do before I dry it out to make sure it is really truly dead?

On a related note - what is the difference between live rock and lace rock? Isn't it all "live" after it's been in a tank for a while?

I do this to any rock I get, just place it out in the sun for two days then do a fresh water scrub to remove the dead stuff.

add a small amount of hydrogen peroxide to water. after a couple days rinse well and let dry
