Regal Angel baby from RS

So I picked up this little guy. I'm friends with the guy at the lfs and he said he had been feeding him mysis with liquid garlic. I put the little guy in the tank and he likes to nip on the live rock even though I don't see anything on it for it graze. I also noticed that he likes to hang out with the emerald crab. He/she lets the crab pinch him/her a little. Kinda like cleaning him/her. I put some mysis with garlic today along with a fresh clam. The little guy doesn't seem interested in the clam or mysis and just swims around nipping at the live rock. I've only had him for 2 and a half days. He seems pretty relax swimming around my 90gal exploring the caves. I also noticed it hovers sideways and upside down while looking at the live rock. I wonder if its normal. Doesn't look like swim bladder though.

Any ideas what should I expect in the next few days? Will it make it?

how small is it? it under 1 inch i give it a week to 10 days till it will perish if its not eating prepared foods.

I've been reading that thread, pretty lengthy. I hope he decides to start eating something soon.

Hovering is normal, he's looking for food. Try ocean nutrition angels formula (red one). I've had good luck with getting angels to go after red foods. Maybe put some good live rock in there for him to pick at. That might buy you some time until he starts eating prepared foods.

Try some Rod's food. Haven't had a fish yet that refused it.

but live blackworms are probably the most likely.

Did you leave the clam in the shell? I know it took a while for mine to eat out of the water column. I would break the clam up a little and let it lay on the bottom. Hell figure it out.

fish is dead. found it laying on its side when I got home. I feel bad and won't be purchasing another regal again. Will stick to reef safe easy fish. About the clam. My sailfin is pecking on it.
