Regal angels are generally model citizens when it comes to picking on sps. Not to sure about zoas though. I have one in my sps tank and it didn't pick on anything. There are lots of people out there with mutiple angels in their sps reef tanks.
I feel that its all about the size of the Regal that you purchase....mine was BABY(1") size....now she or he is 2 1/2 long....never touches my zoas....just feed well and I feel that you will be ok....had my red sea for 1 1/2 years now....
I had a regal for about 5 years in a reef...mostly with softies. He ateall the zoas soon after placing him in the tank, but he seemed to leave soft corals and LPS (euphyllia) alone. I had no SPS, but I think they are in general more safe with angels.
IMO, this fish is so amazing that you should plan a tank around it FIRST, but the corals are secondary. SPS & noxious softies. Also Corallimorpharians. I have been trying, but nothing will eat the bloody things! LOL
