I know you do not want to put fresh clams in there, but if you don't i am not sure a tiny bit of nori every day will do.
The most important thing is to get something in their stomach.
In this case with a bone visible, like said above it's probably malnutrition, I would highly suggest putting a clam or 2 in there.
I knwo you are worried about clams in your reef, BUT....
I have 5 angels and put 3 fresh clams in my tank everyday for my regal AND none of the fish even look twice at my 3 clams I have in my tank (all maximas)...
JMO, but you need to get something else in the regals stomach.
