I ordered a Red Sea Regal Angel last week but it died on arrival. Your service was great and you credited the amount back to me. What concerned me was had it lived was it was not a Red Sea Regal Angel but a Pacific/Indo Regal Angel which is much cheaper but harder to survive than the Red Sea type. Its very easy to distinguish the two by looking at their belly where the Red Sea Regal has a yellow belly and the other is blue/gray. I took a picture and emailed it to your service department. They said they will forward it to one of your directors.
This incident also happened to someone else on reefcentral on that same week. His Regal Angel survived the shipping but its not the Red Sea type.
Thank you for your post. Our aquatics team will be available to respond to posts from 9am-4pm CST Monday-Friday. For questions or concerns regarding your order, please contact us at 1-800-334-3699 (8am-10pm CST) or email us at CustomerService@LiveAquaria.com. Thank you.
I apologize for the problems you have experienced with your recent LiveAquaria order, and I have spoken with the manager of our holding facility about your issue. Your satisfaction is very important to us, and I understand that we contacted you in order to try and schedule a reship of your order with the correct fish, but by you had requested to have the order credited back. We have credited back to you your entire order plus the freight.
We choose not to purchase any Regal Angels from Indonesia or the Philippines as they normally do not ship well and never adjust to captive conditions. Currently we offer Regals from the Red Sea/Maldives as well as specimens from the Coral Sea (Solomon and Vanuatu) as well as Tahiti in the South Pacific. All of these locales capture handle and house the fish properly and they normally adjust to captive conditions if acclimated correctly and are housed with very passive fish by the experienced aquarist.
Many respected authors such Rudie Kuiter, Helmut Debelius, Scott Michael and others state that Regal Angels found in the Indian Ocean up to the Red Sea display a yellow belly, where Regals from the Indo-Pacific region display a grey/blue belly, as you have stated. This holds true for these fish as long as they are not stressed and displaying normal coloration and behavior.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance by contacting us at 1-800-334-3699 (8am-10pm CST) or email us at CustomerService@LiveAquaria.com. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Sincerely,
Kevin Kohen

Despite the slight mishap I want to thank all the LiveAquaria staff for their help and support and responding to all my emails and questions promptly. Never did I feel that you did not want to work out a solution. Your positive service well definately keep me as your customer as I have ordered with Dr Foster Smith since the 80's (I think it was Pet Warehouse back then). Sometimes I wish my local fish store will treat me the same way as your company does.
For those who are wondering about the Regal Angel, LiveAquaria was told they would be getting more Regal Angel with the yellow bellies from Solomon Island and was told they would personally hold one for me and reship the correct Regal Angel at no additional charge. Thats great service! I had to decline because I picked up a Regal over the weekend from a fellow reefer.
