Regal Angels - What is their Personality?

I've owned a few angels over the last 20 years and found the different species have quite different personalities. For example

Scribbled - really bold and friendly

Majestic - shy and easily scared

Emperor - bold to the point of bossy

This time I am thinking about a regal so keen to now from people who have/had them to share their experience on the personality of these fish.

Mine was reserved and cautious, although I only had it 7 months before a power outage got it.

Mine is about 8", grown about 3" in 6 years. I've seen them for sale at 10" though.

IMO & IME, like so many fish, personality will depend on surroundings and tankmates. They will be the alpha fish in a tank with smaller fish and somewhat shy when housed wit other large Angels. I had trouble with one way back when, then I was told to be sure it was one of the first fish into a tank. I think LA says about the same thing. Magnificent fish! but not easy.

Mine is about 5" and 6" for the other, never seen captive specimens bigger than 10" but i think they get about 12" or so in the wild.

If added first, they are like any other large angel, and will assert territory dominance when new fish/angels are added, or at least that has been my experience. I wouldn't say they are bullies, but they will give chase if they feel other fish are encroaching on their space.

I'm just new to this hobby. A friend gifted me with a pair of regal angelfish about a few months ago. She said it was a red sea specimen. They are quite aggressive the reason why I only keep both of them in the tank.
