regal tang behavior

im sure this is normal..but i dunno i dont think its a problem either just wondering somethin

my new baby (penny size) regal tang seems to be doin fine eating and alll but he tends to just go to the end of the tang and go up and down from the top of the tank to the bottom along the glass for hours..

is he unhappy or what? im not worried that much just kinda curious

Are you keeping him in a 29 gallon aquarium?

Regal tangs should not be kept in anything less that a 125 gallon tank. The behavior you describe is stress behavior from cramped quarters. The size of the tang is irrelevant to the amount of space they want to swim in.

You have to remember this tang is the size of a penny. That is like you (MCary) in Texas.

above post true but at this stage basic normal acclamation behavior. may go away or be a charecteristic of this partcular fish. tangs are spookey and can behave strange as result esspecially when intro'ed....in any case if it passes this stage increase tank size to 70 at least after 6 months or you will be straight up cruel ,........l....goood luck.

once acclimated regals do like to cruise regardless of size. 29 gallon will have numbered days then it will be a death chest for all.
