? regarding M. Doreensis

I've had my M. Doreensis going on 4 months now. It had been anchored in the substrate in pretty much the spot it was placed in the tank. Then two days ago, it uprooted its foot. It is between two rocks, so it is still in its spot, but its foot is out of the substrate. Any thoughts on what or why it is doing this?

I assume you've been feeding it and lighting is adequate, the only things left are flow and water quality. Can you post water parameters and any chenges you may have recently made. If you've made no other changes then its most likely water quality/parameters have changed.

Water parameters are as follows and have been consistent for the past 4 months.

pH: 8.0
SG: 1.026
Am: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 5-10
Alk: 12dKh
Ca: 460
Temp: 78-80

Don't have a phosphate test, but don't have any nusiance algae either.

Flow is about 1500gph as rated by the devices (not actual), lighting is 2 175w MH with 2 110w VHO actinic supplements.

Recent changes are the addition of 4 SPS corals within the past 2 weeks, 2 monti caps, a monti digitata, and an unknown acro (all of which are on the opposite side of the tank).

It's steady. It's been 12 dKh for about 9 months now. I use Bionic and when I've let it go a week or two in an effort to get the Alk lower, it gets to about 10dKh but my calcium consumption is drastic, so I dose regularly and it stays at 12dKh.

Is it possible your test kit isn't giving you proper results? Have you double checked with another tester?
