Regional Club Frag Swap - Side Trades

It had good extension in the prop tank before the lights went out, so I think it will do jsut fine until the new main tank gets set up. I have another blue/tan crocea in there that has been in the prop tank for going on 5 months now (I think, maybe longer, I don't remember exactly when we got it :)). I built an 18" square "sand box" for a variety of reasons, the clams are it's current residents (the 2 croceas and the large deresa that we got from Xia today). The only other inhabitant is an open brain that is more comfortable on the sand than the frag racks :)

It was great to meet up with Tom and all the other reefers that visited my home today. I really enjoyed showing off my tank and corals. Even better was giving my corals new homes. Even better than that is the new friendships were started. My appreciation for this hobby just keeps growing, and so does my excitment for the swap. I'll post soon some of my recent trades.

Thanks Xia for the trade :) You've got a nice tank setup and great growth/color. That's one cool thing about trading even before the swap... we get to see your tank.

ok, I figured I would go ahead and post these here. I will be offerring one of each for side trades and donating the second (or each one) to the swap. Right now we are trying to rebuild our Acropora collection as we took a brutal beating with AEFWs (and even worse with the Levi treatmtents :(). So just about any nice looking acro would be great. Outside of a half dozen that survived the carnage and another half dozen we picked up from Xia (thanks again :)), we have no acros to speak of.

Ok, onto the frags that we do have :)

The larger Idaho Grape will go for a side trade, the smaller into the swap :). Both are encrusted on frag plugs and doing well.

One pair each of the neon green and burgandy birdsnest (one each for trade one each for the swap).

By the way, we have some equiptment failure in the prop tank about a week ago now, so you may see some dead tips of corals in the backbround, etc. It is not some funky disease, just a goof up on my part while moving the prop tank to it's new location. Most all of them are already on the mend, but a few others I may end up needing to trim back the dead tips a bit, I jsut have not had a chance to get to it yet.

Now, back to the corals :)

One pair each of the raspberry, yellow and dark green porcillopora (sp?)

Here are a couple of fags of green based/red (orange) polyped digi

And while we are on the monti kick, if I can talk the wife into letting me frag her purple monti, then frags of it will make their way to the swap :). She picked it out at a "brown out sale" at an LFS, nursed it back to health (and color) and is now somewhat protective of it :)

We also have some yellow porites frags, but I can't seem to get a good picture of them. I have seen them for sale at Atlantis labelled as "banana coral" (at least I think that was what they called it.). If anyone is interested I will try to get some pictures of the parent colony. I have been trying to take pictures of the frags themselves, but in this case I may not be able to.

and lastly we have a Lamarck Angel that we would like to swap :), if anyone is interested :). I couldn't get a good picutre of him either, as he is very very active. The reason for wanting to get rid of him is that he is starting to bully some of our smaller, more docile wrasses, etc. Other than that he is a model reef citizen. And his bullying is more like pestering, especially around feeding time, but nothing more.

ok, now these are not for trade, but are clams that I received from Xia. The one on the far left we have had, the other 2 were picked up on thursday. We can't wait to get our tank setup so that they can have a permanent home :)

I can frag a 2+" of the brown with steely blue tips, polyps are bright green where it encrusts and base gets kinda purple. Still tryin to color it up and am finally giving it the flow it needs, but grows fast!Braches are getting a shade of dark green also.
Also can frag a 2" frag of Alex's unknown milli(salmon pink ,lime green and white), would do both for the idaho grap frag if interested :)

how long have you had the blue tipped stag ? Is the "Alex's unknown milli" the pink/reddish one in the right hand corner of the picture ? I miss our millis, and am looking forward to replacing them. We had a beautiful and vibrant blue/purple milli that was one of the first victims of the AEFWs earlier this year (or was it a prostrata ? I can never keep those 2 straight :)).

Those 2 frag you offerred sound interesting/good to me !! :D Thanks for helping us out with replacing our lost acros :)

We are also picking up the GAC from the group buy from you at the swap, right ? :)

:D

Glad your interested :) Theres a my own lil personal story/history behind that blue tip. It's actually one of two frags that were on a maricultured plug, one was more blueish and the other more greenish. This is the more blueish one. I originally aquired it from Tony at Aquarium world, it was in bad shape and only about an inch and half was making its comback and encrusting over its original dead 3" skelton. The greenish one only had an inch of tips starting to encrust back. These will do very well under strong light and current. This pic was taken last december of '05 :)

And ya, in that first pic, Alex's unknown is just below it to the right, the pic was taken before I knew I'd trade with you so the branch Im giving to you is conviently cropped off  , but its approx. 2" and has a forked 2 tips.

Sparkss,

Any interest in Zoas? I am interested in the cats paw. I posted a photo earlier in this thread of a rock of green Zoas I am going to break up.

John,
The wife likes the zoas, so we can probably work something out.

Madness,
Nothing special. I am trying to stay with the general theme of the swap, even with any side trades, and that being one of sharing and spreading the various corals around to our fellow reefers. As I noted above we are basically acro-less, thanks to those damned AEFWs (plus the 5+weeks in a QT setup didn't do the surviving acros any favors either...:(). So any decent looking acro would be nice, that notwithstanding I like the colorful blastos, leptos, etc (the small LPS I call em :)) and the wife likes the colorful zoas/palys. I also am a bit of a clam addict :), although I am coming close to the limit for clams in our prop/holding tank, at least until we can get the new tank up and running *sigh*.

In general, just make me an offer, I am likely not to turn it down :). Feel free to PM me with the offer if you would prefer, no worries :) (I just cleared out my PM box, so there should be any issues there :D).

Madness,

I have to agree with everyone else that posted, those pinks are super sweet :). I understand about taking the time to post picts.. it took me a week to finally post our picts in this thread :). Anything like the ones nu2sw or wakskat posted are always welcomed (although I am already picking up more than a few things from wakskat :)). Do you prefer the porci frags mounted on frag plugs ? or just loose cut ? (well in advance of the swap, of course, with plenty of time to recover :)). LMK and I will get them fragged up.
