Relocating Toadstool

Hey guys, I have a toadstool that has grown quite large, about 7-8" diameter and maybe 8 inches tall . As it's grown, the side of the "stalk" has started to cling to other rocks, since leaving it's original rock behind (along with baby toadstools). The problem is that now it's really stuck to the new rocks and it's shading all my zoas so I need to move it elsewhere in the tank.

I tried gently pulling it off one of the two rocks it is connected to but was fearful of prying too hard before checking in since I know they can go toxic (though not sure how).

It has an extremely long stalk right now, the bottom parts of which are very thin since it no longer needs it by virtue of grabbing onto a higher rock. So I'm not really sure of the best way to re-anchor it (glue to a new rock, the toothpick and rubber band method, just tucking the foot down into a rock crevice where it can grab hold over time, etc.)

Am I overthinking this one? Any advice welcome. Thanks!

Couldn't you just cut the top off? The stalk will eventually grow another crown and you can do whatever you like with the other one, whether it's placing it someplace else in the tank or trading it in at the LFS.

Thanks, Cloak. Not a bad Idea. Would a simple razor blade do the trick?

I'll still want to pry off the top most part of the stalk since it's squeezing out a zoa colony, but cutting the top off will certainly make it easier to reposition by getting rid of the lower portions.

A razor blade will work, but a sharp pair of scissors is even better. Here's a picture of mine just to give you an idea. This is the second time I've done this.
