Remora or Remora Pro

Be careful not to go too big on a pump. My pro performed better with a Hyperflow 10 than a 14. Would have loved to have tried a 12.

anyone know if I can reduce the noise on my remora pro by reducing the pump? I recieved a rio 1400 on my used remora pro, and it makes a lot of noise. I ahve learned to tune it out, but it can still get annoying at times.

Ive been running a AquaC Pro /w a quiteone 3000 hanging off the side of a 20gal sump inside a cabinet, i find it to be far louder than i had expected. I think the spray injector is causing all the sound, though the only other systems ive seen are at my local fish store where hes got a corallife super skimmer going on one of the tanks and it is many times quieter than my aquaC.
If you go with a remora i would defiantly recommend wrapping the collection cup in wet paper towel which will make a good seal around the top of the skimmer which does cut down on the noise a little.

I have the remora pro on my 125 and I'm having a pain finding the sweet spot to create dry foam instead of the wet stuff? Is this skimmer even capable of creating dryer skimmate?

To quiet down a Rmora You can place foam or a sponge in the chamber under the collection cup that is above the injector nozzle. The pipe will keep it out of the water. I have also heard of peolple wrapping the skimmer body in a towel.

Dry skimmate and remora don't go hand in hand. Raising the cup up will help.

A folded paper towel over the injector area will quiet it down. Simple and cheap.
I didn't like the preskimmer box. Too hard to keep in place. You must be meticulous about topping off the tank to keep skimmer pump from running dry. Plus the box is bulky.
I like the skimmer much better now that i added an overflow and run it in a sump.
