Remora Pre-skimmer

Looking to put it on a 18g nano, I know it is big, but the surface film is driving me crazy!
Just wondering if anyone out there has this on a nano and how well it works.

Also, it looks like the surface has two seperated compartments. To make it smaller I was wondering if it would be possible to cut the bubble trap/media chamber off. Just looking for some opinions and ideas

If you want a surface skimmer that takes up less space and don't need the bubble trap, you can try using the Fluval surface skimmer($9.99). That's what my lfs uses. Seems to working fine for them. They have a Remora w/Fluval SS on a 20L.
