Remote volume (extra gallons) for stability

Help me out her Reef Smac, I do not have a drilled tank though

That does make things a little more difficult but not impossible.
Is your tank glass or acrylic?
Seems as drilling it would solve your problem. Is there a reason you don't want to drill it?

THIS LIGHT IS SUSPENDED ABOVE THE SUMP.

this is a amazing light to grow chaeto, I can harvest a bucket a month of chaeto in my 400 gallon sps tank, I promise you my nitrates are less than 1 and my phosphate with hanna is .01 to .04 with little or no gfo. Since I have set up my tank this way it has been running like amazing. I also feed a bunch.

Just a heads up, check out this review. It looks like a great Chaeto light, but make sure you know what you're getting.

that could explain the insane growth of the chaeto, but for my tank it is worth it even if it draws 400 watts. The chaeto traded in at the pet store may off set it a little. Did you see the rest of my system 6 400 watt halides on tank. I must own stock in the power company.

I wonder if a rubbermaid would leach phosphates in the water, especially on a such a small system? Phosphates have been known to leach out of plastics before.
