I replied to your other thread on this topic but noticed in this post you stated the rock can't be removed from the tank. If that's the case, there isn't a power tool that will work as water and electricity don't mix.
In your other thread, I asked if you could post a picture of the rock and colony. This will give us a better idea of what you're trying to accomplish.
