removing a maxi mini from it's base?

I have a couple maxi minis in a smooth collection container. I want to pull them to place on my reef. Any idea how to remove them without hurting the foot? Steady pressure? Ice cubes? They are in a small critter keeper.

I put my finger nail pointed down into the base of the foot so that the top of my fingernail is up against the foot and and I put constant pressure on the foot until it begins to release its hold.

Since it's a smooth container you can just use something flat like a credit card and scrape it off like scraping ice off a windshield.
