Removing a six line wrasse!!!

I have catch 3 fish in the last week that were imporsible to catch for me, i tried every trap i found on the net DIY and bought in store and nothing work.

The method i use is just to simple to be true, wait at least one hour after all the lights in the room you have your fish tank are off, and turn on all the tank lights at once, all fish will be blind, dumb and easy to catch, last night a fox face swim into the net by himself with this method.

Ohh God I jinxed myself!!!! I ment to write "I'm gonna get him".... 4 attempts and each time he took the bait clean and as a fisherman this Is very frustrating. Nothing can get easier than catching a fish in a barrel so to speak.

Be sure to put the bait so that the very tip of the hook is exposed or you won't have any luck. Use squid or a piece of shrimp with shell...something that will stay on the hook a bit. Don't give up...it will work.

I've had a six line wrasse and had the same problem as you. I caught him using my DIY acclimation box. Of course I had the wrasse that I wanted to introduce into my tank in the the acclimation box and used him as bait. My acclimation box is a little hamster plastic cage with holes drilled in. They are the ones with a lid that snaps onto the body with a little clear door up top. I drilled a hole in the little door and then tied fishing line to it. Being that the six line was so aggressive, he found his way into the door and wha la, caught the little booger.

Been reading a lot in the forums about using a bottle trap to capture my little devil with no luck. Went over 3 days of non feeding and then strategic feeding into the bottle. I just gave up after doing it for well over 2 weeks of trying to catch the darn thing. Finally broke down and took apart my 75g tank and caught the bugger. He is the sump guardian and will no longer terrorize or kill my firefish (when I do get replacements). Good riddance and I will never ever get another wrasse again, regardless of the more docile nature of other wrasses, it just ain't worth the headache! :furious:
