Removing clams from LR

I have a maxima and a Crocea clam that I would like to relocate but I made the mistake of letting them attatch to my LR. What is the easiest way to detatch them without killing them?

I just had the same situation. My plan was to break up the rock near the clam and then just relocate with a smaller part of the rock attached. I just tapped on the rock with a hammer and chisel and the clam just "jumped off" the rock. I never thought that would happen but it did. The clam is doing well and relocated where i want him.

I was hoping not to have to do that.. but I guess I'll have to figure something out.
