Removing Green Star Polyps

I have a bad case of green star polyps gone wild. I want to remove them from one of the rocks in my tank (they keep smothering my zoos). Is there any way I can remove these without taking the rock out of the tank. If not, I can always remove the rock and scrubb it clean, but it would be much easier for me not to remove the rock. I'm afraid if I scrub the rocks in the tank (i.e. with a toothbrush), then I'll put of bunch of unwanted disolved organics (and potent chemicals) in the water.

Also, I have a serious case of brown parazoonathus growing like crazy that I also want to remove--same question.

You can just peel them off. They don't latch onto the rock very hard. (the gsp)

Mine it's a pain to remove from the rocks just breaks apart, not sure how to kill it thoug
