Removing impeller?

Got an alarm on my stream. The housing around the impeller needs to be cleaned. I took off the bearing bushing, screw and bearing shell and the impeller still won't come out. Tried to get it out with pliers but don't want to break anything. Are the calcium deposits holding it in there or do I need to remove something else?

Uhm, try soaking it thoroughly, but I had that happen to me with streams from the original production run and I had to send 'em back to Roger to get new impellors. There was some sort of design change or something so they can't get stuck. The original ones (I can personally attest) can get stuck.

I soaked it for a while and eventually got it out. When did the streams from the original production run come out? I got mine back in February or March.

Capt, yours are the new style, the design changed at about that time. It is possible they are the older one but it is mainly an issue of cleaning, even the new ones need to be cleaned every 3-6 months depending on calcium and KH as well as Strontium and Magnesium as well as pH levels. The simplest way is to run the pump in a bucket of 50/50 vinegar and warm water for an hour every 3 months and every year do a full tear down.
