Removing/Isolating GSP and Xenia

I foolishly added GSP and Xenia to my 9 month old tank in its early days. The Xenia came in on a frag the size of a dime, and now I have 1.5 square feet of it. Fortunately it was isolated largely to 4 rocks which I removed to another, smaller and expendable tank. Some stalks moved off these rocks in the former tank, and I scraped them off and removed the tissue from the water column. I tried Aiptasia-x, which didn't really work. Thought of using Kalkwasser paste but read mixed reviews of that as well.

Re. the GSP, I have pulled the rocks out of the aquascaping and placed them isolated on my sand bed. There are three smaller patches that traveled off these rocks and on to other rocks. I prefer not removing these after removing the rocks with the Xenia on them because of the biological filtration impact.

Why can't I simply flip these rocks over so that the GSP are on the underside (in the dark) or forced into the sandbed. Wouldn't this slowly kill them and allow me to salvage the rock? Or do I need to scrape those polyps off the rocks as well?

You could try smothering the GSP/Xenia with some epoxy. I've done this to all kinds of different corals including these two with great success. Flipping the rocks over will work too though. GL.

I had something similar and I used a chisel to remove it off the rocks, the chisel afforded me precision to remove it without totally destroying the rock.

Hydrogen peroxide will oxidize both of those corals. Spot treat with toothbrush soaked in H202. It works underwater as well. It is what I use on Aptasia.

I killed all my GSP in my office tank using Redsea NOPOX, for Xenia fresh water baths while scraping them off works or reduce your nitrates and they will melt

How do you use this fluid in a fluid? (underwater) Doesn't it become diluted?

Yes, it becomes diluted. It is still effective if expedited. I know some use a synringe. I prefer the tooth brush. It is instantaneous, if it is going to work. In some cases, it doesn’t work. At that point, a ten minute bath of 10% hydrogen peroxide is required. I use a 1% solution of 35% concentrate.
