Removing large Chiton from glass

Hello- I have a large Chiton (approx. 2" in length) and I can not get it off the glass bottom. I have tried using a thin object to pry him loose but it has not been happening. Any tips? Thanks

Man that sucks. I would try a credit card. He will let go eventually.

Keep up at it. A 2 inch long chiton is worth the hassle.

My understanding is that chitons stay in the same spot until they're done eating there. If the credit card doesn't work, maybe put a few dirty mag floats next to him. When you catch him feeding on the mag float, voila!

I actually tried the tip of a Kent pro-scraper blade but this bugger is like a tank..hard as a rock... and glued to the glass. Getting him to move onto something I can remove sounds like a good idea, though I tried putting a thin piece of plexiglass next to him to no avail as he just pushed it around. I guess I will just keep trying Thanks

I removed my 1" chiton with a credit card perpendicular to the glass. I pushed the card against him and He came off with a very loud "suction cup" pop and did fine afterward. Be sure that you don't pry the chiton off but push it.

try a piece of pvc pipe if you have one large enough
If the tank is almost drained you can try some ice under him, may encourage him to move

Blow torch in the spot opposite him on the other side of the glass should work. Although it may make the remaining water in the tank boil a bit....:D
