replacing bulkhead

I replaced a bulkhead on my 120 before moving over contents from existing reef. I tightened it in as much as possible by hand and have screwed in adapter and connected rest of pvc plumbing. Should I seal with silicone or any sort of substance to help prevent leakage? If so what kind and where? I imagine this would be the bottom side if at all.

the bulkhead by itself should be plenty some seal with silicone. i never have and have had no problems

if its properly installed all you should have to do is hand tighten the nut if you tighten it too much you will force the gasket out of place i use a little bit of silicone grease of the gasket if you need silicone sealant then somethings wrong
