Replacing filter socks

Have to agree. I get why they are all the rage but at the end of the day particles in the water column are food for corals. I've never been scuba diving in water without floating particles...

Most of us don't like seeing things floating in the water column either. To me it makes the tank look dirty.

Totally get it - I do. In fact, I dig it...but off the top of my head I was going to say obviously you have never been scuba diving in the ocean ;) All seriousness though - I do see the attraction along with others comments. I'm actually sitting here looking at my 40 breeder and thinking wow - I sure do have a lot of micro bubbles today and floaty things...

But then I always come back to thinking it is food. That and some of the larger reefs people keep always have things floating in them. I know this isn't monkey see monkey do - I think I just fall into the camp of not owning them.

That and I know I'm lazy - they wouldn't get changed has frequent has they need to which would lead to other issues, right?
