My water was checked at Salt Water Island and he said it was perfect and that is the only thing that is not doing good my other corals are doing awsome. They are called hair mushrooms and they are just not doing good I dont know what is up with them do you know if they require alot of light I dont think they do.

I'm really not for sure the only thing is he said I might want to buff the water up and have him check it tomorrow.

I wouldn't trust them then, particularly if they said it's "perfect but you might want to do XYZ" because those two statements are mutually exclusive.

If it looks like your mushrooms are melting as they expel their guts then it may be a parasite. Does it look localized, i.e. are mushrooms in one area wilting but those in another are still OK? If it's hard to tell then I'd still assume it was water quality, regardless of the other coral in the system. If it were me I'd run carbon and don't put any other food, chemicals, or animals into the tank until things turn around.

thanks

thanks

No it only seems to be this one mushroom but thanks for the good advice it has been about three years since I have had areef tank and I still need help.

If it truly disintegrates I would also use a turkey baster or other device to suck any dead tissue off the rock and around the area as well.
