what do you think. I picked one up and was going to try it to drip kalk. you can adjust how fast or slow it drips. I was going to put a small powerhead in the container to keep it mixed up. the container holds 1 gal. what do you all think?
If it can be adjust to drip then I say go ahead. Kalkwasser after it is mixed should settle and you want to use the kalkwasser mix that is at the top (clear) because the excess kalkwasser that did not dissolve will fall to the buttom of the container.
I used a 1 gallon container with a valve to drip kalk. Don't use a powerhead to mix the kalk. You can do a lot of harm by mixing too much kalk into water. Put it in, mix it a little and let it settle.
I mix kalk by the 5 gallon jug (what I go through in week) and keep the lid on it. It usually takes 24 hours or so for everything to settle and then I only drip the clear supernate solution on top. Dripping kalk raises pH so I drip most at night to ounteract the nightly pH drop.
The one I used had a valve on the side about an inch from the bottom. This allowed for the sediment to stay at the bottom and most of the kalk to be used without having to refill the container.
