Restocking Opinions

This past weekend I finaly moved my aquarium into my new house. It is an established 90 gallon tank with 20 gallong sump and full oak stand/canopy. It wasnt easy.

Unfortunetally I wasnt very stocked to begin with and lost 1/2 my fish in the process.

I lost:

1) Firefish (1/2 of a mated pair)

I was moving the live rock the 1 mile trip unsubmerged... He was found in a bin after the trip, still alive in a puddle. He seemed fine but didnt survive.

2) Diamond Goby

Unknown cause of death... stress???

3) Mandarin Goby

I think I am most bothered by him, he was an ill informed purchase early in my experience that survived and thrived. I crushed him setting things up

4) Hippo Tang

Stress

5) Bangaii Cardinal

Lost before the move LTA got her

So that is what I lost, I want to replace my diamond goby and mandarin goby. The bangaii I had was large and introduced by herself. I think I want to replace her with 3 introduced together. I also want a Copperband butterfly and some blue reef chromis.

My main question is Yellow tangs... The recommend 100 gallons for them. Is a 90 with good swim room close enough? What determines their recommendation is is bio-load, aggression, size???? My 90 has good swim room and I would love to actually have a pair of yellow tangs.

Here is what I have left:

Mated Pair of Clowns
Single Firefish
Tomini Tang

Here is what I want:

2 Yellow Tangs
3 Bangaii Cardinals
3-5 Blue Reef Chromis
Diamond Goby
Mandarin Goby
Copperband Butterfly

Is that out of the question?

One if you don't introduce tangs at the same time they will fight and I would not do any more tangs I would do the copper banded and the chromis and you would have a nice properly stocke aquarium

Bangaiis as singles or m/f pairs only. 1 tang (the Tomini) is plenty for a 90 which, from a tangs perspective is a 75.

My opinion on your wants, for what it is worth, free!:
2 Yellow Tangs - sorry, I think your tank is to small
3 Bangaii Cardinals - either keep one or keep a M/F pair
3-5 Blue Reef Chromis - these will whittle themselves down to 1 (I have been able to keep 2 for several months, but they are in with an angler fish so either the constant threat keeps them from killing each other or they are a pair)
Diamond Goby - sure you have had one before so know about them
Mandarin Goby - sure
Copperband Butterfly - can be hard to keep, but as long as you are aware of this, sure

Final list of what I would keep given your listed choices, what stock you currently have, and your tank size (meaning no more fish than what is listed below):
- Mated Pair of Clowns
- Single Firefish
- Tomini Tang
- M/F pair of Bangaii cardinals
- Diamond goby
- Mandarin Goby
- Copperband butterfly
