lol, why is that? I gues the people that have them like them. Would be nice for a wave box. DC motor. I think I read soemone may be trying to put the Tunze controller on these. Russ where are ya? Need your opinon on this. lol

Not sure. I have only worked on 60 hrz. Hey you can try it if you want to. Personaly I wouldnt even bother till more positive reviews comes out.

I understand that this has it's own controller that cycles the flow at three different rates, roughly 600gph, 2000gph, 4000gph then repeats the cycle. There is a knob that lets you choose the time each flow runs. I'm not sure how long each is. I think the minimum is 10sec for 600gph, and 5 sec for the other two.
That being said if the controller is making the pump spin at different speeds that often, would the Hrz difference matter that much.
Anyway's I think the idea is golden but quality need to be refined.
I jumped last night and ordered one so I can see for myself what this pump is all about. Maybe it can be made better with a little tinkering.
I'll keep you posted.

Wow, I ordered this thing on Sun Night and got it today around 10am. 3 1/2 days, defiantly not on the slow boat from China.
Printed on the box states:
530 Gph adjustable from 10-20 seconds
2116 Gph from 5 - 15 seconds, and
3968 Gph from 2 - 10 seconds.
Can't wait to play with it this weekend. Maybe bring it to the meeting next weekend.

Ok, it's blowing.
The pump that is. Everything seems to be working as stated. The quality doesn't seem bad, although I don't have anything similar to compare it to.
I don't think it's pushing 4000 Gph on the high setting though. But then again I don't have anything to compare it to.
I put it in the tub when I got home from work and it does move a lot of water but not with a lot of force, so I don't think it will blast any corals out of position. It will be interesting to see if it disturbs the sand at all.
It's in a 5 Gal. bucket right now and I'll let it run that way till Sat. to see if any problems arise plus I want to closely monitor it for a while after I put it in the tank and I will not have that kind of time until Sat.
If anyone would like to come by and see it tomorrow after 4:00 PM let me know and I'll PM the address.

I like the way it puts out flow. Everyone has been saying it puts out the high flow in a nice wide dispursation. That is why I like the vortech's better then the Tunze's.
