retarding minicycle

I am going to be adding some crushed coral to an already semi established tank. I want to add about 15 lbs of [live] crushed coral to the existing sand bed
Is there a way to do this and guard against a mini cycle?

Just add small portions at a time over a period of 3 weeks or so. Five pounds one week, five pounds the next etc.

How much live rock do you have? If you have a decent amount, you probably would be okay adding it. I've only personally seen issues when people replace their existing sand bed too quickly (as in siphon it out).

if its clean, dry crushed coral it should be okay to add it all at once. is this in your 120?

About 150 lbs of DR.

I'm sure it's fine to add it all at once, especially in a 150. It won't cause a cycle if there is no organic matter on it

It's Caribbean Sea and is suppose to be live.

go ahead and add it all. it might cloud up the tank for a bit but it should be okay
