Retro fitting a Nova T-5 in a Nano hood

Has anyone figured out a way to get these into the 24gal Nano cube or Aquapod stock hoods? Their dimensions are 18x2x1, so they should technically fit right? Any experienced moders out there chime in on what can fit in terms of max length of these hoods?
