Retroing halides

Retroing my fixture w/ 2 250 watt hqi's.
It's 72'w/ 3 175 watt mogul's .
Could I reasonably put them in between the mogul.
It would be a mogul, hqi, mogul, hqi, mogul.
Would this be over kill ?
Or would it be better to take out the mogul on each end and replace w/ the hqi.
I just got the ballast and the sockets etc.
A friend retro'd their 250's down to 150's.
It's on a 125g that I have had problems keeping sps in.

Do you have center braces? If so I would replace the 175's on the ends so you get better light spread with less shadowing. You are going to be adding a good amount of heat with an extra two halides so that is something to consider as well.
