So on my 30gal oceanic sump ive done modifying to make it a refuge. Im wondering which side i should use as my intake and my return. Currently im running the return on the factory side with stock baffles. Dimensions are 12" x 7" the intake is roughly 12" x 4.5". My concern now is my baffles are backwards and i have under>over>under from intake to refuge and over>under into return. The problem i see with this as chamber 2 and the return hold maybe 15-20 gallons and for some reason if my 2 dursos clogged tats all going to be pumped into the tank resulting in a flood. Thats why i would flip the sump around and run the smaller return section, if i got a clog then just the gallon or 2 in the return section would pump out. Problem is the way the stock return baffles are made after being switched (making them the intake baffles) the flow would be under>over but the "technically" first baffle is only like 3-4" high and the water needs to be about 10.5 to flow into the return section (again if i switched things from its current setup). So i dont know if thats a bid deal or not but if for some reason the water couldnt make it over that baffle then my pump will run dry?
Sorry that was a long ramble :uhoh3:
