return policy sucks

I bought a Coralife 125 skimmer from MD about 45 days ago. It has only been plugged in for about 3 weeks now and it keeps blowing my GFI device that I also bougth from MD. Last night it blew again and this morning I find my dwarf angel dead. I called to see about returning the skimmer to get one I'm more comfortable with having in my tank and they tell me it's to late. I understand it would be to late to just return something because you just change you mind, but a defective device should be a different story. I have spent at least $1500 over the last 6 months with MD, and the only thing I can say at this point is I'm glad there are so many other retailers to choose from in this industry.
 
Thank you for your post, You may want to check how much power your are running on that particular circuit, it sounds like you might of exceeded it capacity, I recommend that you move some plugs around to a different circuit that may solve your situation. As for the return policy...
