Return pump for new set up

Roger,

I pulled the trigger and we are upgrading the 180 to a 240g. The sump will be upstairs under the tank instead of in the basement.

What pump would you recommend for the return pump? I dont think I need more than 700-1000 gph.

I do need something that is very reliable or run with two smaller pumps.

Also, will my 9015 skimmer still handle the new tank size?

You could use one 1073.090 which is about 1500 gph at 0ft, but would be close to 900 at the typical 4ft of head.

Or, you could use 2 1073.040 or 1073.050, 450 and 550 gph respectively at 4ft of head. All can be adjusted, 09 and 04 would have a mechanical flow adjustment, 05 is DC and you could turn it down electronically.

9015 or 9415? The 9415 would be fine, it can handle a mixed reef up to 240 or SPS with heavy stocking up to 160.

Thanks Roger,

I meant the 9425 skimmer. I swear, its the best skimmer I have ever used for the size of it.
