return pump gph strength?

Does anyone have a good link that I can use to figure out how strong my return pump in the sump needs to be?

90 gallon tank, 29 gallon sump. (tank came with corner-flow plumbing kit) The corner-flow pipe is 2' long and starts with a 2"opening and tapers down to a 2" bulkhead with a 1.25" hole. I should have paid more attention in shop class. You would think Corner-flo would list the gph on it's packaging....

A 1.25" hole should yeild ~600gph so your return pump flow including head should be slightly less. For instance a Mag7 at 3' head would yield 460gph which would be an option if you were planning on an in-sump return. Most manufacturer websites will have the flow ratings for their pumps posted.

Cool....consider the Mag7 then as it's reliable and fairly priced. It will add a little heat to the water like any other submersible but it's nothing to be concerned about.
