Return Pump Question?
I have a single 1.5" return line that splits into (2) 3/4" loclines w/ the options to add another.

My question is:

1) Would a Mag 36 be to powerful for this?
2) If so, if I opened the third locline would it help?
3) Or should I use a Mag 24?

Or what return pump would you use? It must be submersible as of right now.

Specs:
240 gallon aquarium
40 gallon sump
30 gallon refuge/Grow out tank
(2) MJ 1200s w/ Lg. MJ Mods

I'm trying to keep good flow with out adding a CL or a bunch of powerheads.

Opinions & Criticizm Welcomed!

i think a 24 is enough.a 36 going thru your current plumbimg will not give you much more if any.you really cant safely get any more flow than that without a close loop or tunzes ect...

Splitting a 1.5 inch into 2 3/4 inch lines extremely restricts your plumbing. A 1.5 inch pipe has 1.2 square inches of flow surface area. A 3/4 inch pipe has 0.30 square inches of flow surface area. To not restrict your flow you would need four 3/4 inch outlets on a 1.5 inch pipe.
