Return Pump replacement

So I have the Fluval Evo 13.5 tank and the stock return pump sucks. I need to replace it however I want it to sit all the way down in chamber 3 and still be quite. Who has had luck with replacements and what do you recommend?

Good question. I'm thinking of buying that tank and would definitely upgrade as well. I have a Spec V which I upgraded also. Do you have a wavemaker in your tank? I'd recommend that too.

I’ve tried both the Cobalt 900 and 1200 pumps and both are quiet and move lots of water. I did cut a 1/4” off the water entry but left a section uncut to protrude and insure the pump doesn’t suck itself to the glass wall. It did bump my daily temp by a degree, I think.
