Hi there! I've entered into the salt water arena 4 or 5 months ago. This site has been very helpful as I lurked for some time before taking the plunge. I purchased a used (in use) 90 gallon setup with a 20 gallon sump/refugium.
I'd like to purchase a new return pump and am wondering what everyones preference is between the submersible vs external pumps is and why?
My current pump (forgot the kind) has begun making some noise and occasionally needing a kick start after I shut it off for maintenance, etc., and I'd like to replace before it is an emergency. The thank has a Megaflow overflow installed.

All water params are pretty good...still battling nitrates a bit, but not horrible (overfeeding I think! lol)
