Return Pump / Suggestions & Comparisons

I like the DC pumps because of flow variation, lower electrical costs, and a much higher rate of flow to begin with and at reasonable prices. My sump and DT are in the basement, so I don't need a lot of head pressure. I use my old AC Eheim for water changes. DC pumps keep getting better and better and we really don't know how long they'll last because some of the better ones have only been out a few years. And I mean here the majority of manufacturers with the majority of products that most hobbyists would find affordable, and not Royal Exclusiv or Abyzz. I'm running a Waveline DC12000 on my DT and manifold for a year and haven't had any issues. Hope it stays this way for ten years or more. I'm also running 2 Jebao RW15s for a year and just hooked them up to my controller. I don't expect the RW15s to last 10 years, but I think they are great anyway.

All good advice. I appreciate the responses.

I'm narrowing down my options to the Sicce Syncra 3.0 or a Jebao DC.

Finding that some have plastic internals and others have stainless, which is the more logical choice? Stainless would be stronger and resist breaking on power ups, but is prone to corrosion correct?
The white shaft and bearings inside a pump should be from zirconia (same material as ceramic kitchen knifes) not plastic.Zirconia lasts longer than the stainless steel because it doesnt corode and is more resistant to friction.Jebao pumps ive dismounted have all zirconia internals and my h
ot water pumps also have zirconia internals .Im not sure if that cheap jebao you posted ,has also zirconia shaft.

Do the latest DC Jebao models have those zirconia internal parts? I see this one says water resistant ceramic in the description.

Again, what is throwing me for a decision making loop are all the mixed reviews of all the comparable brands in the "reasonable" price group.

You definitely don't want that pump as it is the original series of pumps and very old. For that price, you could get a DCP which is the newest version. The DCS and DCP were released in 2016. The DCP also features a newer controller version.

I have used Rio Plus submersible pumps (the ~700 gph) for years and like them. They're cheap and silent. I have always had my tank in my living area and even when I'm standing beside it, I cannot hear the pumps. I use vinyl tubing for the return which may help. I also have a beananimal overflow so it's actually silent, and not just drowned out by the drain.
