ok so my problem is, my return is pumping faster than my inflow.
my overflow box has a double 1" out, but i used 3/4" hoses because i had 10' of it already laying around.
not sure what size the sump actually is, but it's a double tank(pics included). in the first section i've got a "reef octopus classic skimmer",
in the next section i've got live rock and cheato, from there it overflows in a sponge and into the return pump area, where i have a "quiet one 4000(1017 gph)". again i'm using a 1" to 3/4" adapter to the return hose.
but i keep having to add water into the return area, because it keeps pumping low and making that annoying sucking sound.
What can i do to fix this?
