I need to get a smaller return pump. I have a mag 9.5 now, but I think it is to much flow through the sump. If anyone is interested in it let me know.

one million dollars...... not sure yet. I will let you know. I have to see what I can find out there to fit my plumbing. Unless you have a smaller one that you are not using???

Why couldn't you just run a by pass valve on the the return line?

Ya I would just put a valve on the line as well. You can always turn a pump down, but its pretty hard to make one pump harder if you ever need it.

I have it feeding my TLF reactor, just seems like it is to big.

That, and I think it is putting to much flow in my sump, not letting my skimmer work to its full potential.

You should post a pick of what you are talking about. The way it sounds though, directly off the return on the pump T it of and run a down tube off of that back down into the water in sump. Between the T and and the down tube put in a ball valve. Then you can regulate your output flow of the pump. More closed ball valve=more flow. More open ball valve=less flow. That way can you control your flow without putting any strain on your pump.
